Solar Hot Water Heating – Save Money and Resources

With Earth Day just passed, it might be time to consider not only a Green alternative but a money saving one as well.

Solar hot water heaters have been around for several years and not only has the technology drastically improved but now single family home owners as well as multi-unit owners who heat   their water with electricity, natural gas or propane with can obtain rebates under the California Solar Initiative (CSI) – Thermal Program. The program offers cash rebates of up to $1,875 for solar water heating systems installed on single-family homes and up to $500,000 for systems installed on commercial or multi-family buildings.

Qualified income-eligible single-family and multi-family housing natural gas customers can qualify for increased rebate levels.

The CSI-Thermal Program rebate levels decline in a series of four steps based on how much has been paid out over time, so those who act the soonest will benefit the most.

Over time, solar water heaters can not only save precious natural resources but valuable greenbacks as well.

Feel free to contact us for more information about the benefits of solar water heating and the rebates available or view the CSI-Thermal Program at

We once though that solar water heaters were atypical and opulent. However the level of air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and global warming have made them essential. With the kind of technologies that are in place today, it is easy to capture solar energy efficiently. This is particular good because solar energy is clean and renewable.’

    • Hi Adrienne,

You’re right. Thanks for the comment. Solar hot water heater, radiant heating, tank-less water heaters are all important not only to saving energy but saving the environment as well. The prices continue to drop for the ever improving green technology. In the future the green technology will be the norm not atypical and opulent.
