Everyone from the 49 state attorney generals (except Oklahoma) to the major banks jumped on the PR spin bandwagon to announce how great the $26-billion settlement would be for homeowners. Hah!

Even at a rudimentary 3rd grade mathematics level most people can figure out that this $26 billion settlement works out best for the banks and again the struggling homeowners get handed the fuzzy end of the lollipop. It turns out that improperly foreclosed homeowners will get about $2000 as compensation for having your home improperly foreclosed with forgery and  fabricating documents.. What a deal.
