Where’s the Money? See New Documetary Inside Job

To borrow a line from the Coen Bros “Where’s the f—ing money Lebowski?” He should have answered, “Wall Street”. That’s what this new documentary pic Inside Job conveys. A couple of us got a chance to view it the other night.

Sometimes you see a feature film or a documentary where you know the outcome and much of what happened but even so, this film offers such compelling narrative and responses so sometimes utterly ridiculous and foolish that we had to laugh. Either that or get really angry.

Director Charles Ferguson delves deep into the Wall Street meltdown; remember the one just a couple years ago that cost tens of millions of people their homes and savings? Like any one else trying to inspire and educate people out of this crisis, Ferguson did his homework. He researched his info so well that many declined interviews (Got something to hide Ben Bernanke, Larry Summers, Timothy Geithner, Alan Greenspan, etc.?). Those names sound familiar?

We like how Ferguson takes his gloves off (figuratively people, this is not a boxing film) and often jabs the interviewees, they punch back, and then he hits a litter harder. We love this guy’s spirit, research and intelligence and narrative. He’s tying to get people fired up about what happened. Know anyone who got ripped off from a predatory loan? Know anyone fighting with their bank to get a loan mod or even to do a short sale? Know anyone who’s gone to jail over this meltdown/fiasco/bailout? Have them watch this film and they fill be fighting mad as well.

It’s hard not to be furious or at least disgusted while watching the inner workings of what really went down on Wall Street and within our Wall Street Government.

We’re just hoping that after seeing this film the people of Main Street may want to borrow a famous quote from Network “’I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!”
