With all of the recent festivals, conferences and events we’ve had to lay off the laptop (blog posts) and lay on the planning and developing. But here we are just a couple days before the 2009 San Francisco Homeownership Fair. We’ll be there but for those on the proverbial fence (white picket, wrought iron, hopefully not barbed wire) we provide this overview of sorts so you can decide to pop in.
First of all, you can’t beat the price – free. And with so much info it would smart to spend a few Saturday hours at this event if you’re even thinking of jumping into the homebuyer (or home investor) fray then this would be the place to do it. It will be so San Francisco with multiple workshops given in multiple languages (English, Spanish and Cantonese). Number one of the agenda will be: Am I Ready for Homeownership? Here potential homeowners will learn the steps to becoming a successful homeowner. The workshop will answer questions about homeownership preparedness based on today’s market and credit conditions.
Later in the day the Workshop will spotlight Purchase Opportunities where people will get an educational slice about special considerations for purchasing in the current market such as Short Sales, REOs. Speakers and venders will discuss the pros and cons of all the options. Potential homebuyers can educate themselves with info about the Mortgage Credit Certificate, Teacher Next Door Program, Down Payment Assistance Program, and Police in the Community Program, as well as talk with banks, realtors, government and nonprofit housing counseling agencies and, of course, we’ll be there as well.
